The Midlands Churches of Christ

An Introduction to Us and the Website

Hello and welcome to our, hopefully, informative site.

As a church we aim to help all come to know God better, to experience the peace and love that He gives. We want to display through the life of the church and through its individuals, that God is great and that He has the answers to life.

Individually we want to:

These core Christian teachings were delivered by Jesus to focus mankind on what God had been trying to get through to us for centuries (see Mt 22:37-40, Mk 12:30-31, Lk 10:27).

The purpose of this site is to provide a way of distributing information about what is going on in our church. Basic information will be posted, with more details being given at church or on a newsletter. The main starting point will be the 'Home' page from which you can select different areas of interest. The home page can always be reached via the navigation bar just under the main title.

Please have a look around, but before you go I leave you with a final calling:

"His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.

Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ."

(2 Peter 1:3-11 NIV)

The following worksheet will provide a simple look through the basics of a relationship with God and making that calling and election sure. It's an exploration of the essentials outlined in Ephesians 4 v4-6:

“There is one body and one Spirit — just as you were called to one hope when you were called — one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” (NIV)

If you have any questions then come on Sunday or to one of our family groups and we'd love to help.
