We have set ourselves up as a Charitable Trust and are a registered with the Charity Commissioners (Registered Charity No.1110635). The Trustees are legally responsible for all Church affairs and therefore how the Church is governed.
This formalisation is required of us by law and should give the congregation and the world at large confidence and security in our aims and objectives. Additionally, the structure will allow the Shepherds to give more attention to spiritual matters whilst the Trustees monitor financial and administrative matters.
The following people have taken on the role of Trustees:
The governing document and the acceptance of Trustee's responsibilities can be downloaded from the links below. The governing document contains the statement of faith (item 3) and the objectives for the charity (item 4).
The Trustees may well appear within the Shepherds group meetings and other Committees to ensure that they are satisfied with the running of the Church. The spiritual health of the church is of paramount importance to the Trustees as without this there is no church, just a collection of individuals. Therefore, all of these groups will be expected to report to the Trustees at regular intervals to keep the Trustees informed about their activities.
Presentations to the congregation, including AGMs are available on the statements web page.
A record of each of the Trustees meetings is taken and reproduced here for easy access. Some items regarding personal issues or confidentiality may have been removed from these publically available notes (these are indicated in italics). Please contact the Trustees if you have any questions or just wish to clarify any of the points contained herein. The official paper versions of these minutes are also available upon request.
Please note that the person occupying the chair holds no special privilege or authority. The Chair purely ensures smooth running of the meeting and organises the agenda in association with the others.
